3.2 - General information
Long Life Service
As of Model Year 2000, the dash panel insert features a service display which can process flexible data. The
dash panel insert calculates the service requirement for the vehicle concerned on the basis of various input
variables, such as driving style or oil consumption.
By means of suitable limit value programming, the Long Life Service is capable of simulating the behaviour of
the conventional service display. For this purpose, the limit values are designed to be flexible. In addition, the
oil temperature can be incorporated into calculation of service intervals by means of appropriate adaption
channels in the self-diagnosis function.
