1. SAFETY MEASURES AND PRECAUTIONS

This instrument has been designed to comply with the IEC/EN61010-1 Directive on
electronic measurement equipment. Before and during measurement, carefully follow the
instructions below and read all the notes preceded by the symbol
• Do not take voltage or current measurements in humid environments
• Do not take measurements near explosive gases or materials and fuels, or in dusty
environments
• Avoid contact with the circuit being tested if no measurement is being taken
• Avoid contact with exposed metal parts, unused measurement terminals, circuits, etc.
• Do not take any measurements if you notice any abnormalities in the instrument, such
as deformation, breakage, leakage of substances, no reading on the display, etc.
• Only use original HT accessories
The following symbols are used in this manual and on the instrument:
CAUTION: follow the instructions given in this manual; improper use may cause
damage to the instrument, its components or dangerous situations for the
operator.
High voltage: risk of electric shock
Double insulation
DC voltage or current
CAUTION: this symbol indicates that the equipment, the batteries and its
accessories must be collected separately and disposed of in the correct manner

PRELIMINARY INSTRUCTIONS

• The instrument has been designed to be used in the environmental conditions
specified in § 10.3. The presence of significantly different environmental
conditions can compromise the safety of the instrument and the operator. In any
case, before using, wait until the conditions inside the instrument are
comparable to the conditions of the environment in which it is operating
• The instrument can be used for VOLTAGE and CURRENT measurements in CAT III
1500VDC with a maximum voltage of 1500VDC between inputs and a maximum
current of 40A. Do not work on circuits that exceed the limits specified in § 10.1
• We recommend that you follow normal safety procedures to protect yourself from
dangerous currents and to protect the equipment from misuse
• Only the accessories supplied with the instrument guarantee compliance with the
safety standards. They must be in good condition and must be replaced, if necessary,
with identical models
• Check that the batteries are inserted correctly
• Before connecting the measurement cords to the circuit being tested, check that the
desired function has been selected
