Risk of injury by cuts with the
cutterblock at standstill:
− Always cover the cutterlock with the
guard extrusion of the cutterblock
cover when the machine is not used
as thickness planer.
6.3

Operation

1.
Place workpiece against jointer
fence.
2.
Adjust cutterblock cover:
− Planing the face of a plank or work-
pieces up to 75 mm thick:
With the starknob screw (22) the
guard extrusion (23) is adjusted to
the workpiece height. When guiding
the workpiece the hands slide over
the guard extrusion.
22
− when planing narrow edges (edge
jointing) or workpieces more than
75 mm thick:
After loosening the starknob screw
(24) the guard extrusion (25) is
adapted to the stock width.
24
3.
Set operating mode selector to
planer/thicknesser mode.
4.
Start motor.
5.
Assume proper operating position:
position yourself to one side of the
infeed table.
6.
Feed workpiece straight across the
infeed table, holding your fingers
close together, guiding the work-
piece with the palm of your hands.
Exert downward pressure on the
workpiece only in the infeed table
area.
7.
Switch machine off if no further plan-
ing is to be done immediately after-
wards.
Workpiece dimensions
Width: max. 180 mm.
Thickness: min. 5 mm.
Per pass 1 mm of material is removed.
Tips and Tricks
Plane stock with the grain, if possi-
ble.
Use roller supports on both sides of
the planer/thicknesser when work-
ing long stock.
23
When surface planing a warped
(twisted) board, place on infeed
table with the hollow side facing
down.
When surface planing short work-
pieces:
− use push stick;
− feed workpiece with the small
face first;
− guide workpiece turned approx.
20° against the direction of feed.
Keep surfaces of planing beds clean
– in particular, remove resin residue
with a suitable cleaning and mainte-
nance spray (optional accessory).
Apply an anti-seize compound to all
planing bed surfaces afterwards.
This makes feeding easier and pro-
25
vides for a smoother surface finish.

Slide flat bar steel (26) at the arm of
the cutterblock cover (27) from the
side into the guide extrusion (28).
28
In order for the arm of the cutter-
block cover to move, a distance of
26
27
ENGLISH
1 mm is required between arm (29)
and guide extrusion (30).

2.
Tighten the flat bar steel's hexagon
socket head cap screws.
Dust collection attachment
installation
The dust collection attachment consists
of two parts, the suction port (31) and
the dust chute (32).
Both parts are
attached to the cantilever arm (33) and
held by spring clips.
1.
Put both parts of the dust collection
attachment together.
2.
Swing the dust collection attach-

3.
Secure dust chute in place with the
cutterblock cover (35).
4.
