Making an auxiliary fence
An auxililary fence prevents chipping on
the rear of the workpiece when crosscut-
ting. The auxiliary fence ist attached to
the fence extrusion in such way that it
extents over the fence extrusion. The
projecting part is cut away when cutting
the workpiece.
Since the auxiliary fence is a wearing
part, a fresh one needs to be made as
illustrated for each cutting job:
45
1.
From a board approx. 10 mm thick
cut a strip of the dimensions shown.
49
Dimension "A" should not be more
than 15 mm.
2.
Affix the two fixing straps (54) with
two wood screws, at the distances
shown, to the top of the strip.
50
47
3.
Slide the heads of the fixing straps'
hexagon head screws in the slot of

Safety Devices
The blade guard (55) protects against
52
unintentional contact with the saw blade
and from chips flying about.
When using the saw, the blade guard
must alway be positioned so that the dis-
tance between the workpiece and lower
front edge of the blade guard is not more
then 2 mm.
The riving knife (56) prevents the work-
piece from being caught by the rising
teeth of the saw blade and being thrown
against the operator.
When sawing, the riving knife must be
positioned at a distance of 3 mm to
8 mm from the saw blade.
The push stick (57) serves as an exten-
sion of the hand and protects against
accidental contact with the saw blade.
Always use push stick if distance
between
fence and saw blade is ≤ 120 mm.
54
Information for a safe operation
− Never cut several workpieces at the
kickback (workpiece is caught by the
rotating saw blade and thrown back
against the operator):
− always work with a properly set riv-
