Fit desired cutter in the chuck – if
necessary, use reducing bush.
The cutter must only protrude as
much as is required for the job.

Tighten collet nut.
6.
Remove the long lock bar from
the slot in the table!
Fence installation
1.
Slide fence carrier into the groove
(70) of the sliding carriage. Tighten

Safety

Cutter fence
The cutter fence (76) protects against
unintentional contact with the cutter and
from chips flying about.
76
When using the spindle moulder, the
cutter fence must be adjusted so that
− the axes of the cutter spindle and
centering pin are exactly in line and
− the distance between workpiece and
the underside of the cutter guard
(77) is max. 2 mm.
Fence and stock clamp
Fence (78) and stock clamp (79) prevent
lateral yielding of the workpiece when
being worked.
71
When moulding, fence and stock clamp
must be adapted to the workpiece in
such way that the workpiece is held tight
72
and can not yield.
The fence needs to be installed in such
way that the workpiece is pressed
against it by the rotating cutter.
Information for a safe operation
General Hazard:
− Install only suitable cutters. The
installation of grinding or polishing
disks is not permissible.
− Before switching on check to see
that the tool is securely clamped.
− Before switching on check to see
that the tool can turn freely. To do
so, turn tool carefully by hand –
74
Caution – cutting hazard!
− Always work one workpiece at a
time.
− Depending on the job use suitable
safety devices, which prevent unin-
tentional contact with the rotating
cutter. Adapt these safety devices
exactly to the respective application
and the workpiece dimensions.
− Use a feeding aid if you are going to
work a workpiece less than 300 mm
long.
− Always feed the workpiece against
the cutter's direction of rotation.
77
Risk of kickback
Risk of injury by workpiece
kickback (workpiece is caught by the
rotating cutter and thrown back
against the operator):
− Always use sharp cutters only.
− If in doubt check workpiece for inclu-
sion of foreign objects (e.g. nails,
screws, lose knots).
− Depending on the job use suitable
safety devices, which prevent unin-
tentional contact with the rotating
cutter. Adapt these safety devices

Operation

Depending on the job on hand install
the cutter, cutter fence, fence and
stock clamp and adapt as required.
If necessary use also the sliding car-
riage, G-cramps or table extension
(see examples for application).
Cutting height setting:
− Turn lever (80) counter-clockwise.
80
− Adjust to desired height by raising or
lowering the lever.
With the spindle stop (81) the height
adjustment of the cutter spindle can
be limited.
This is, for example,
necessary for set-in work where
stock is to be removed to a certain
depth only.
To adjust the spindle stop loosen
wing nut (82), adjust spindle stop as
required and tighten wing nut again.
− Turn lever clockwise to secure it in
the position set.
Set operating mode selector to spin-
dle moulder mode.
Start motor.
Assume proper operating position:
Switch machine off if no further
moulding is to be done immediately
afterwards.
