Turn off the ignition. (
If DWA is activated, DWA is
automatically activated after
the ignition is switched off.
Activation takes approximately
30 seconds to complete.
Turn signals flash twice.

Alarm signal
The DWA alarm signal can be
triggered by:
Tilt alarm sensor
Switch-on attempt with an
unauthorized ignition key.
Disconnection of the DWA
from the vehicle battery (DWA
battery takes over the power
supply – alarm tone only, turn
signals do not flash)
If the DWA battery is dis-
charged, all functions remain
operational; the only difference
is that the alarm cannot be
triggered if the system is
disconnected from the vehicle
battery.
The duration of the alarm sig-
nal is approx. 26 seconds. Dur-
ing the alarm, an alarm tone
sounds and the turn signals
blink. The type of alarm tone
can be set by an authorized
BMW Motorrad dealer.
