Step 3. Connect all the required cables to the PCIe adapters.
Notes: Depending on the configuration, connect the following cables to the PCIe adapters if
necessary:
• GPU power cable to double-wide GPU adapter
• RAID flash power module extension cable to ThinkSystem RAID 940-8i 4GB Flash PCIe Gen4
12Gb Adapter
• Backplane signal cable to RAID adapter/HBA
• M.2 signal cable to RAID adapter/HBA
Step 4. Install PCIe riser 2.
a. Align the riser assembly with the guide slots on the chassis; then, lower the riser assembly until
it is firmly seated.
Note: When lowering the riser assembly down, make sure to route the PCIe adapter cables
away from the heat sink.
b. Fasten the two captive screws to secure the riser assembly.
