• Touch the static-protective package that contains the component to any unpainted metal surface on the
server; then, remove it from the package and place it on a static-protective surface.
Note: Depending on the configuration, the drive backplane might look slightly different from the illustration in
this section.
Procedure
Step 1. If necessary, assemble the backplane with the backplane bracket.
a. Align the notch of the backplane with the nub of the bracket; then, insert the backplane to the
bracket until the backplane is seated in place.
b. Secure the backplane with two screws.

Step 2. Release the internal backplane power and signal cables from the cable clip on the processor air
baffle.
Note: The number of internal backplane signal cables varies by configurations.
