7 Initially Starting, Configuring, and
Checking System Operation
CAUTION! Performing various steps in the following procedures may cause a service interruption and/or result in the
extension of alarms. Notify any appropriate personnel before starting these procedures. Also, notify personnel when these
procedures are completed.

7.1 Initial Startup Preparation

Ensure that all blocks, except the last one, in the "Physical Installation" starting on page 1 have been checked.
Ensure that module mounting positions are filled by a rectifier module, converter module, or a blank cover panel, as required.
It is acceptable for positions to be left vacant.
Refer to the configuration drawing (C-drawing) supplied with your power system documentation for factory settings of
adjustable parameters.

7.2 Initially Starting the System

Procedure
1.
Apply battery power to the system by closing the external battery disconnect(s) or protective device(s) that supplies battery
power to the system, if furnished. Close the system's internal battery disconnect circuit breakers, if furnished.
2.
Apply AC or DC input power to the system (depending on configuration ordered) by closing ALL external AC or DC
disconnects or protective devices that supply AC or DC input power to the module mounting shelves. Rectifiers and/or
converters automatically start.
3.
Open the distribution cabinet's front door by turning the latch in the counterclockwise position.
4.
Place each distribution circuit breaker (if furnished) to the ON position.

7.3 ACU+ Controller Procedure

Refer to this section if your system is furnished with an ACU+ Controller.
ACU+ Controller Initialization
Refer to the ACU+ Instructions (UM1M820BNA) for detailed instructions.
Refer to Figure 7.1 for locations of the ACU+ local indicators and navigation keys.
