Notes for operating the Metrohm Suppressor Module (MSM)

930 Compact IC Flex ChS (2.930.1200)
CAUTION
The pulsation absorber is maintenance-free and must not be opened.
Maintenance on the injection valve is best performed by specialist person-
nel from Metrohm during annual service.
NOTE
The suppressor units must never be regenerated in the same flow direc-
tion the eluent is pumped. Therefore, always mount the inlet and outlet
capillaries according to the diagram outlined in Chapter Connecting the
Metrohm Suppressor Module (MSM), page 31.
The Metrohm Suppressor Module (MSM) consists of three suppressor
units, which, in rotation, are (1.) used for suppression, (2.) regenerated
with regeneration solution and (3.) rinsed with ultrapure water or with
suppressed eluent. In order to record each new chromatogram under
comparable conditions, work is normally performed with a freshly regen-
erated and rinsed suppressor unit.
CAUTION
The Metrohm Suppressor Module (MSM) must never be switched over
if liquid is not flowing through it, since otherwise it may become jam-
med. If the Metrohm Suppressor Module (MSM) is in a dry state, it must
be rinsed for at least five minutes before it may be switched over.
