Pre-Installation
• There must be at least 300mm clear space to either the left hand or
right hand side of the appliance. This clear space must be from the
required clear height above the appliance to floor level.
– This clearance will not apply if the appliance is sited within
300mm of a door way and the door frame is the only obstruction.
Minimum clearances must be observed to any obstruction/ surface,
(dark shaded areas, figures 12 and 13).

clearances of 60/100 flue or 80/125mm flue.

Appliances in compartments
Follow the latest requirements of BS6798 and BS5440 and note:
• Minimum clearances must be maintained.
• An access door is required to install, service and maintain the
appliance and any ancillary equipment.
• If the appliance is installed in an unventilated airing/storage
cupboard, there is no requirement to make a partition between the
appliance and the storage space as long as the minimum clearances
around the appliance are maintained.
