Recommended twisted pair cables

The signals between the CAT Dynamic Ports and the connected computer and console
modules are transmitted using category 5e (or better) twisted pair cables.
NOTE:
It is permitted to connect several segments of a cable connection with
patch panels and connection ports. It is, however, not permitted to connect
active components such as network switches, hubs or repeaters are not permitted.
The data transmission is reliable over a distance of at least 80 metres using a regular
standard twisted pair cable (category 5e or better).
NOTE:
The twisted pair cables must have a standard-compliant RJ-45 connector.
When selecting the RJ-45 connector, please make sure to use types that have the
slimmest possible sheathing.
Cables plugged directly next to each other or one below the other must not
interfere with each other or exert pressure on the socket. If required, you will
find high-quality and optimally usable patch cables in many different lengths
in our range.
The distance that can actually be bridged depends on the quality of the applied
cable. High-quality S-STP cables with an AWG22 wire gauge coding can bridge a
distance of up to 140 metres.
Patch cables with an AWG26 wire gauge coding can only bridge a maximum of
80 metres.
In order to ensure reliable operation even in environments with interferences, use
installation cables with at least AWG24 coding for lengths over 80 metres:

NOTE:
The lengths that are mentioned in the table above must be interpreted as the
sum of all segments between the devices.
