After selecting an availabre _ine, repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 on page 46.
• To end programming
Press [PROG/CHECK] or [RETURN]. The timer recording list disap-
pears and the message "TURN RECORDER OFF FOR TIMER
RECORDING" is shown on the television.
To put the unit on timer recording
standby
Press [_, POWER],
Ensure "[]" lights on the unit's display.
If the disc is protected or full, the unit switches to standby but does
not go for timer recording standby. Check the disc carefully.
• Flexible
recording mode (FR)
eThe unit automatically selects a recording rate between "XP" and
"EP" that will enable the timer recording to fit in the available re-
cording time on the disc with the best possible recording quality.
eYou can use the mode only with timer recording.
• It may not be possible to record to the finish of the program if the
remaining time doesn't allow.
• The built-in clock employs 12-hour system•
•,The remaining time displayed is calculated based on the current
recording mode.
,,Approximately 30 seconds at the beginning of subsequent pro-
grams is not recorded when you used timer recording to record
multiple programs to a DVDoR.
• Recording is not possible unless you set "Disc Protection" in "DISC
SETTING" to "Off" (m page 53). []_]
• You can not record to a disc if the disc is protected with the write-
protect tab. Release this before operation (-, page 99).
,,Timer recording may not work as set when summer time switches
to winter time and vice versa (-, page 88).
To change the timer recording

While the timer recording list is being shown
Use the joystick [A, V] to select the
program you want to change, and
press [ENTER].
The timer recording setting screen is shown.
Move through the items with the
joystick [1_] and change the settings
with the joystick [A, V] and press
[ENTER].
