CHAPTER 7– SERVICE AND REPAIR

Main Board Replacement

The Main Board subassembly can be removed from the chassis.
Removal:
1. Disconnect TB1 Main AC Power.
2. Disconnect TB2 – TB5 Serial Communications.
3. Disconnect J4 and J5 Network Cables.
4. Disconnect H2 Prox (Card Reader Cable) by pressing the tab to release.
5. Disconnect the Display Cable by pressing the tab to release.
6. Disconnect the Keypad Cable by pressing the tab to release.
7. Remove the 7 chassis mounting screws.
Note: The outside bottom left, and bottom right screws are shoter than the 5 inside screws.
8. Remove the entire board assembly.
Note: Do not remove the plastic shield from the board.
Note: Do not disassembly the board assembly.
Installation:
1. Carefully place the CPU/Power Supply/Communications board on top of the chassis.
2. Install the board mounding screws.
Install the two shorter screws in the bottom left and right bottom corners (do not tighten yet).
Install the 5 interior screws (do not tighten yet).
Verify no cables are pinched under the PCBA.
Once all screws are in place, tighten all screws to secure the PCBA to the chassis.
3. Carefully reconnect the cables that were disconnected for Removal.
