The recommended maximum block size limit is 64 Kb with this HBA. When using
block sizes larger than 64 Kb, the driver breaks the blocks up into 64-Kb blocks.
Qlogic 4010 iSCSI HBA
The latest drivers need to be installed for the Qlogic HBA. With downlevel drivers
certain invalid SCSI commands can cause the HBA to issue an auto-request sense to
the target device. This auto-request sense causes SCSI command errors to report
zeros to all applications instead of the valid sense key errors.
The Default Timeout for each Spectra Logic tape drive and tape library target must
be changed from 10 seconds to 600 seconds. This change must be done on a per-
target basis from the Target Settings tab in the Qlogic SANBladeiX GUI.
Spectra Logic recommend increasing the Connection Keep Alive Timeout value
from 30 to 300 seconds. The Connection Keep Alive Timeout determines the time
interval for when the HBA checks to see if it still has a connection with the target
device. The HBA determines if the connection is alive by sending an iSCSI NOOP
PDU to the device. This value is editable on a per-connection basis from the Target
Settings tab in the Qlogic SANBladeiX GUI. With tape drives and tape libraries, a
longer interval is recommended.
Qlogic 2462 HBA To use this HBA with the library, the HBA must be running with a
minimum driver level of 9.1.4.10 and at a minimum firmware level of 4.00.26. Driver
and firmware updates are available on the Qlogic Web site.

Optical SFPs

Spectra Logic recommends using quad-rate optical SFPs for Fibre Channel and iSCSI
connections. These can be ordered directly from Spectra Logic (PN 7964).
The only quad-rate SFP manufacturers certified by Spectra Logic are:
PicoLight (Vendor PN PLR-XPL-VE-SG4-62-N)
JDSU (Vendor PN JSH-42S3AB3)

Using USB Storage Devices

A user can plug a USB storage device into the LCM for transferring information to and
from the library. Do not leave a USB storage device plugged into the LCM indefinitely,
unless specifically directed to do so by Spectra Logic Technical Support.
Note:
Not all USB storage devices are compatible with the library. If you are
unable to access a USB storage device from the library, remove it and use
a different one. If the LCM stops responding after you insert an
incompatible USB storage device, reboot the LCM as described in the
Spectra T50 User Guide.
