RXT350 Overview

The RXT350 is based on RAID eXchangeable TeraPack, or RXT technology, because in
its minimum configuration, the RXT350 contains at least one RXT drive. It can
optionally contain one or two additional RXT drives or also half-inch tape drives,
integrating removable disk technology with traditional tape technology. No matter
which drive configuration your RXT350 has when you purchase it, the configuration
can be changed or upgraded at any time. For information on adding drives to empty
drive bays or upgrading or changing drive types, contact your sales representative.
The RXT drives in the RXT350 provide a RAID controller that writes to and reads from
portable RXT media that you load into the drive. The pack is composed of multiple
SATA disks in a sturdy enclosure, set to the RAID level specified when the pack was
ordered. For a brief review of RAID, refer to RAID Overview on page 52.
The tape drive(s) installed
in the RXT350 are
integrated to give you more
options for direct-attached
storage (DAS) backups.
