Precautions for use

Operating Environment
• Be sure to observe the following rules concerning the storage and operating environment. For more information,
please refer to
"Specifications
• Water droplets (condensation) may form on the surface of or inside of the product when the room is suddenly
heated or when the product is moved to a warmer room. Additionally, sudden changes in temperature or
humidity, such as those caused by a marked difference in temperature or humidity between the place of storage
and the place of use, may also cause printing defects. In such a case, leave the printer for at least 1 hour to
acclimate to the ambient temperature and humidity before use.
AC Adapter and Battery
• If the product has batteries installed and the AC adapter is also plugged into a power outlet, the AC adapter will
be given priority as the power supply. However, it is recommended that you remove the batteries when using
the AC adapter, as they will be drained otherwise.
• If the batteries are installed and the AC adapter is connected to the product, do not disconnect the AC adapter
during printing. The product will not be able to print properly if you do so.
• When printing using battery power, even if the AC adapter is connected during printing, the power supply will
not be switched until printing is finished.
• The remaining battery power cannot be displayed correctly directly after switching the power supply from the
AC adapter to the batteries. Once printing starts, the remaining capacity will be updated.
• When using the (optional) tube warmer or when printing large characters (character size: 6mm full-width), the
batteries will be drained quickly. In such cases, we recommend the use of the AC adapter.
• If the AC adapter jack is defective or damaged, it cannot be repaired. Contact your place of purchase.
• Batteries are no longer usable when the usage time becomes shorter after repeated use. If this happens, please
purchase new batteries as specified.
• If the battery terminals get dirty, wipe them with a soft, dry cloth; clean the terminals before use.
Consumables and Options
• Do not use the following types of tubes. Not only will the product not print cleanly, but use with such tubes may
also cause a malfunction.
- Broken
- Crushed
- Twisted
- Soiled
- Uneven
- Wet
• Do not touch the connection terminal (metal part) of the cassette. Doing so could cause an improper recognition
of the cassette.
• Do not touch ink ribbon. To avoid poor printing results due to oil from your skin, and to avoid staining your
hands, do not touch the ink ribbon. If your hands get stained with ink, wash well with soap and water.
• Store ribbon cassettes and label tape cassettes in place away from direct sunlight, high temperature, high
humidity, and dust. Also, use them as soon as possible after opening the package.
• Use only the specified types of ribbon cassettes, attachments, etc. Also, do not disassemble the cassette or use
this product with other ribbons or media inserted. Doing so can result in poor printing quality or damage to the
6
(P46)".
