Handling
WARNING
• Do not attempt to disassemble or modify this product. Failure to do so may result in fire,
malfunction, or injury.
• Do not insert any metal objects into the product or drop metal pieces such as paper clips or
staples into it. Doing so may result in fire, electric shock, malfunction, or injury.
• When abnormal sound, smoke, excessive heat, or strange odor is detected, turn the printer
off immediately, disconnect the power plug from the power outlet and contact your place of
purchase. Using the printer continuously could cause a fire or electric shock. Do not attempt to
repair the printer by yourself. This could cause a fire or serious electrical shock.
• Do not use a flammable spray near the printer. If the sprayed gas is brought into contact with the
electric parts inside the printer, a fire or electric shock could result.
CAUTION
• Never touch the print head immediately after printing, as it gets very hot. There is a risk of getting
burnt.
• If you are not going to use this product for a long time, turn off the power and unplug it from the
power outlet for your safety.
• This printer is not suitable for use in locations where children are likely to be present.
• Always keep the consumable such as ribbon cassette, cleaner, cutter, etc., out of the reach of small
children to avoid accidents.
• This product has a built-in cutter. Improper handling may cause the cutter blade to fly out,
resulting in injury. Be sure to observe the following rules.
- When replacing the cutter, be sure to turn off the
power.
- Always turn off the power and remove the cutter
before inserting your fingers into the cutter area or
outlet to remove jammed print media or foreign
objects.
- Do not touch the cutter blade directly with your
hand.
