OPERATING THE UNIT
Factors that can lead to incorrect measurements
Everything that supports the arm during measurement can increase the blood pressure. Make
sure that you are in a comfortable position and do not move your arm during the measurement.
If necessary, you can place a cushion under the arm to be measured. If the arm artery is lower
or higher than the heart this will lead to an incorrect measurement result.
Please note:
Only use arm cuffs that are permitted by the manufacturer and clinically approved!
A loose arm cuff or a defective arm cuff in which the bladder is exposed causes incorrect
measurement values.
In the case of repeated measurements, blood accumulates in the arm arteries, which can lead
to incorrect measurement values.
Continuous blood pressure measurements should be repeated no sooner than after a 1 minute
break.
Here it is important that the arm is held upward to ensure that the accumulated blood can
flow away.
DE
Putting on the arm cuff
1.
Place the arm cuff flat on a table with the hook and loop side fac-
EN
ing down. Pass the end of the arm cuff through the metal loop so
that a circle is formed. The hook and loop fastener is now visible
from the outside.
FR
2.
Push the arm cuff over the left upper arm so that the tube lies in the
direction of the lower arm.
3.
Push the arm cuff over the arm as shown. Make sure that the
lower edge of the arm cuff lies about 2 to 3 cm above the elbow
IT
and the rubber tube of the arm cuff lies on the inner side of the
arm.
4.
Pull on the free end of the arm cuff and close the arm cuff using
ES
the hook and loop fastener.
5.
The arm cuff should now be tight on your upper arm, so that 2
fingers fit between the arm cuff and upper arm. Each item of cloth-
NL
ing that is tight on the arm must be removed.
6.
Fasten the arm cuff with the hook and loop fastener in such a way
that it fits comfortably and not too tightly. Lay your arm on a table
RU
(palm upward), so that the arm cuff is at the same height as the
heart. Make sure that the tube is not kinked.
PL
Please note:
If it is not possible to put the arm cuff on the left arm, it can also be
placed on the right side. All measurements should, however, be carried
SE
out on the same arm.
