Hydraulic connection

Before realising the hydraulic connection, the supply lines have to be cleaned thoroughly
to prevent the risk of metal or other particles entering the water heater tank.
Installing a hot water recirculation system on the unit is prohibited. In case of a unit mal-
function on an installation with a hot water recirculation system, the warranty shall not
apply (for more information, please contact the after-sales service).
If flat seals are used, do not remove the gaskets on the outlets (blue for cold water inlet,
red for hot water inlet).
The water heater must be connected in accordance with the standards and regulations
applicable in the country of installation (in France: D.T.U. 60.1).
5.6.1.
Pipe connections on the tank
Each pipe is made from steel and equipped with a Ø 20/27 (3/4") gas threading.
The cold water inlet has been marked with a blue collar, and the hot water outlet with
a red one.
5.6.2.
Pipe connection
The pipework may be rigid – usually made from copper (use of black steel is prohib-
ited) – or flexible (standardised stainless steel braid hose).
Connection to the hot water outlet must be made using the dielectric union provided,
or a cast iron sleeve to prevent corrosion of the pipe (direct contact between iron and
copper). Brass connectors are prohibited here (for France: DTU 60.1).
Even if VPE pipework is used, the pipes have to be sealed at installation.
A new pressure relief valve (not provided) must be fitted directly on the water heater's
cold water inlet, and meet the applicable standards (in Europe: EN 1487), 0.7 MPa
– 7 bar pressure – and ¾" size (20/27). Connect the pressure relief valve to a drain
pipe. This is to remove heat-expanded water, or for draining the unit. This drain must
have a continuous downward slope to the open air, in a frost-free environment.
