Removal (Fig. 13)
CAUTION
The muffler and exhaust pipes may be hot. To
avoid possible burns, allow the engine and ex-
haust system to cool before working on the ex-
haust system.
1. Park machine on a level surface, stop engine, en-
gage parking brake, and remove key from the ignition
switch.
2. Remove the tailpipe section of the exhaust system:
A. Support muffler from below. Note position of hy-
draulic hose to left rear wheel motor in hose rest on
top of tailpipe shield.
B. Loosen two (2) muffler clamps that secure tail-
pipe to tailpipe hangers. Loosen one (1) muffler
clamp that secures tailpipe to muffler.
C. Remove tailpipe from muffler outlet and lower
tailpipe from machine.
3. Loosen muffler clamp that secures muffler to ex-
haust pipe. Slide muffler from exhaust pipe and lower
muffler from machine.
4. Loosen muffler clamp that secures exhaust pipe to
pipe nipple. Slide exhaust pipe from pipe nipple and low-
er exhaust pipe from machine.
5. If needed, loosen and remove pipe nipple and elbow
from engine exhaust manifold.

Installation (Fig. 13)
1. If removed, install elbow and pipe nipple to engine
exhaust manifold.
IMPORTANT: While installing exhaust system com-
ponents to machine, tighten muffler clamps only
enough to keep components in position. Fully tigh-
ten clamps after complete exhaust system has been
installed to machine.
2. Slide exhaust pipe over pipe nipple. Hold in position
with muffler clamp.
NOTE: Muffler inlet is offset and muffler outlet is cen-
tered.
3. Slide muffler clamp on exhaust pipe and slide muffler
inlet (offset) onto exhaust pipe. Support muffler from be-
low.
4. Slide two (2) muffler clamps on front end of tailpipe
and one (1) clamp on back end.
5. Slide tailpipe to muffler outlet (centered). Position
tailpipe to hangers with muffler clamps. Route hydraulic
hose over hose rest on top of tailpipe shield.
6. Tighten all muffler clamps to secure exhaust system
to machine.
