5.3.2 Socket M CF-518-RS CPU Cooling Kit Installation

An IEI Socket M CPU cooling kit (Figure 5-3) can be purchased separately. The cooling kit
comprises a CPU heat sink and a cooling fan.
WARNING:
Do not wipe off (accidentally or otherwise) the pre-sprayed layer of
thermal paste on the bottom of the heat sink. The thermal paste
between the CPU and the heat sink is important for optimum heat
dissipation.
To install the cooling kit, please follow the steps below.
Step 1:
Place the cooling kit onto the CPU. Make sure the CPU cooling fan cable
can be properly routed when the cooling kit is installed. See Figure 5-4.
Step 2:
Properly align the cooling kit. Make sure the four threaded screw fasteners on
the cooling kit can pass through the pre-drilled holes on the PCB.
See Figure 5-4.
Step 3:
Mount the cooling kit. Gently place the cooling kit on top of the CPU. Make
sure the four threaded screws on the corners of the cooling kit properly pass
