12.1 Safety instructions
Risk of burns due to hot surfaces
Some parts of the enclosure of electrical machines can reach temperatures exceeding 100 °C.
Touching components when the machine is in operation can cause burns.
• Do not touch parts of the enclosure while the machine is in operation or immediately after
• Allow parts of the enclosure to cool down before starting any work.
Risk of burns due to hot oil that escapes
Escaping hot oil can cause burns.
• Before starting any work wait until the oil has cooled down to below 30 °C.
Chemical burns and irritation caused by chemical cleaning agents
Chemical cleaning agents can be caustic or emit dangerous fumes. If these come into contact
with skin or if you inhale the fumes, this can cause injuries, e.g. chemical burns on the skin or
respiratory passages or skin irritation.
• When cleaning, make sure that appropriate methods of extracting fumes are in place and
