6.10 Specific rechargeable-battery-related safety instructions
6.10.1 General safety instructions

Specific rechargeable-battery-related safety instructions 6.10

• Do not take apart, open or deform rechargeable batteries.
• Do not short-circuit rechargeable batteries.
• Do not store rechargeable batteries in a box or draw as this can pose
hazards where they can short out each other or be shorted out by an-
other conductive material.
• Use rechargeable batteries for their intended purpose and protect
them from damage.
• Keep rechargeable batteries away from children.
• Seek immediate medical attention if rechargeable battery compon-
ents are swallowed accidentally.
• Use rechargeable batteries only in those applications for which they
are intended.
• If possible, take the rechargeable battery out of the machine when it
is not being used.
• Take the rechargeable battery out of the machine when it is being
loaded and transported.
• In the event of prolonged storage, remove the rechargeable battery
from the machine and store it in the battery transport box.
– Store in a dry and well-ventilated room.
– Observe storage temperature,
• Dispose of the accumulator and packaging in accordance with regula-
tions and in an environmentally friendly manner. Information on dis-
posal is available from a service partner.
• In the event of fire:
– Immediately take the machine out of operation.
– Remove injured persons and others from the danger zone.
– Stay away from vapors and gases, observe wind direction!
– Extinguish only with water, do not use a direct stream of water.
