HSC Boards
The EZ-Extender can connect to Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC),
Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC), and mixed-signal HSC evaluation
boards. Before any connection is made, make sure that you understand its
requirements by familiarizing yourself with the boards' documentation
and schematics.
For each board type, you need to determine the source of the PPI clock.
To learn about possible clock settings, refer to
It is also necessary to determine the direction of the data and frame syn-
chronization signals. The direction is dependent upon the type of the
board you are connecting to. For example, with ADC boards, it is neces-
sary to set up the data driver on the extender card as receivers. With DAC
boards, the data driver on the extender board needs to be set as transmit-
ters. And, finally, with mixed-signal boards, the direction alters, and a
programmable flag can be used to change the direction in real time. The
frame sync signals are dependent on the external user interface, and the
functionality of the interface must be carefully looked at. For more infor-
mation, refer to
Refer to the HSC examples for any specific jumper settings. Examples are
provided for both the AD9244 and AD9744 boards.
