This chapter describes the installation of the following accessories on the ZT 4901:
•
PMC Devices
•
SFP Fibre Channel Transceiver Modules

the system's ESD ground jacks when servicing system components.

Installing PMC Devices

The ZT 4901 provides two 64-bit 66 MHz PCI Mezzanine Card (PMC) sites, both configured for
3.3 V PCI signaling. Front-panel access is provided for both sites. One PMC site (PMCA) maps
user I/O to the ZT 4901's J5 RPIO connector, as defined in the PICMG* 2.3 specification.

PMCs must be attached to the ZT 4901 IOX board before the ZT 4901 is attached to the ZT 5524
processor board. If the processor board needs to be detached from the IOX board, follow the
instructions in Chapter 3, "Removing the IOX Board from the Processor Board."
The following steps describe the procedure for attaching PMCs to the ZT 4901. Refer to the
documentation included with the PMC device for information about configuring and using the
device.
1. Take the necessary precautions to protect the ZT 4901, PMC(s), and any other devices you are
working with (such as the ZT 5524) from static discharge.
2. Check that the inter-board standoffs (the five standoffs between the IOX board and the
processor board) are installed on the solder side of the IOX board. See
the location of the standoffs. If the standoffs are not installed, follow Step 6 of the instructions
under Section 3.4, "Attaching the IOX Board to the Processor Board" on page 17
them.
