Using the serial interface

You can use the serial interface to assign the Contivity 1740 a management IP
address and subnet mask so that you can then use a Web browser for management.
To configure the management IP address using the serial interface:

Turn on the terminal or PC.
The terminal or PC should be configured as follows:

Connect the serial cable (supplied with the Contivity 1740) from the
gateway's serial port to a terminal or to the communications port on a PC.

On the PC, start HyperTerminal
press Enter.
The Welcome screen appears.
