Fully attach the marker with screws either on the left or right side
of the positioning unit so that it is attached correctly.

Ensure that the marker is securely attached to the positioning unit.

At the horizontal scale, set the zero point so that it is located on
the marker's side. Always read the values of the horizontal scale
laterally from the guide arm.

Set the zero point at the vertical scale. Note that the telescopic arm
needs to be retracted.

Set the angle for the needle/marker holder to "zero".

Set the marker block in one of the outer grid openings.

Post/pillar method
With the post/pillar method, the lesion is sighted with the positioning
unit. For this purpose, the positioning unit with marker is initially set
to zero. A scan is used to compute the target coordinates of the
location of the lesion with the help of the software which are then set
at the positioning unit. The marker is eventually replaced by a needle
guide. In it, either the introducer sheath/stylet combination (vacuum
biopsy) or the core needle device (wire localization/clip) is inserted.
