Offset Accuracy Test

When using the 50 Ω channel inputs, you must ensure that the input voltage to the
CAUTION
oscilloscope never exceeds ±5 V.
Let the oscilloscope warm up before testing
N OTE
The oscilloscope and other equipment under test must be warmed up (with the oscilloscope
application running) for at least 30 minutes prior to the start of any performance test.

Offset Accuracy
50 Ω Input Impedance: Full scale is defined as 8 vertical divisions. Magnification is used below
10 mV/div. Below 10 mV full scale is defined as 80 mV. The major scale settings are 5 mV, 10 mV,
20 mV, 50 mV, 100 mV, 200 mV, 500 mV and 1 V.
1 MΩ Input Impedance: Full scale is defined as 8 vertical divisions. The major scale settings are
5 mV, 10 mV, 20 mV, 50 mV, 100 mV, 200 mV, 500 mV, 1 V, 2 V, and 5 V.
Infiniium 9000 Series Oscilloscopes Service Guide
Connect the male end of the BNC tee to the channel 1 input of the
oscilloscope.
Press [Default Setup] to set the oscilloscope to default conditions. Then set the
scale for Channel 1 to 5 mV/div.
Open the Channel Setup dialog box for Channel 1 (Setup > Channel 1) to set
the channel input resistance to 50 Ω and verify a resistance reading of 50 Ω
±1.25 Ω.
Record the readings in the "Input Impedance Test" table of the
Test Record"
on page 52.
Repeat step 5 and step 6 for the remaining 50 Ω vertical scale settings in
Table
4.
Repeat step 3 through step 7 on the remaining channels of the oscilloscope.
Repeat step 3 through step 8 using an input resistance of 1 MΩ instead of 50 Ω
and verify resistance readings of 1 MΩ ±10 kΩ.
