Wiring Inputs to the iSTAR eX GCM

NOTE
This section shows how to wire inputs and outputs to the iSTAR eX GCM.
There are 16 inputs available on the GCM. Each pair of inputs share a common pin, as shown
in Figure 1-16.
The iSTAR eX has many options as to how the inputs are supervised. This Quick Start
illustrates the most common case, which is known as the Software House traditional method
(NO/NC Double EOL 1K). This method allows the technician to wire the inputs as either NO
or NC as shown in Figure 1-17.
Normally Open (NO) and Normally Closed (NC) Wiring
To comply with UL requirements, use shielded, minimum 22 AWG stranded, twisted pair cable for
monitor points, DSMs, and REXs. Use
For UL compliant installations, non-supervised inputs are not allowed.
