Troubleshooting CRU parts
Use the following procedures to troubleshoot a CRU part:

If there is a problem with a FRU, contact IBM Support.
Troubleshooting the fan modules
To troubleshoot the fan modules, use the show sensors-fans command or click
STATUS → System → Fan Sensors in the WebGUI.
v If the output shows that all fans are running at 0 RPM, the fan module is not
v If the output shows that at least one fan is running at less than 2000 RPM,
If the module is not seated correctly, generally it is not locked in place. To ensure
that the module is seated, use the appropriate steps in "Replacing a fan module"
on page 49 to remove and reinsert the module.
If you believe that the module needs to be replaced, contact IBM Support. For
information about contacting IBM Support and what information you need to
gather before contacting IBM Support, see"Using the diagnostic self-test" on page
34 or "Getting help and technical assistance," on page 61.
Troubleshooting the power supply module
To troubleshoot the power supply, use the show other-sensors command or click
STATUS → System → Other Sensors in the WebGUI.
v If the LED is not illuminated, the power supply module is functioning correctly.
v If the LED is illuminated in amber, the power supply module might need to be
