transmitting antenna and compact piezo P2K
may be reduced to 1 m. the 1 m test distance
is permitted by IEC 61000-4-3.

Troubleshooting Quick Guide
Problem
the device is switched on but
not working (APC - Automatic
Protection Circuit activated).
During
operation,
handpiece emits a slight
whistle.

as antenna cables and external antennas)
should be used no closer than 30 cm ( 12
inches) to any part of the compact piezo P2K
device, including cables specified by the
manufacturer. otherwise, degradation of the
performance of this equipment could result.
Possible Cause
insert tip not present or not
properly tightened on the
handpiece.
The insert tip is worn, broken
or deformed.
Handpiece/cord contacts
wet.
Handpiece not connected to
the cord.
a wire in the cord is
disconnected.
Faulty Handpiece.
malfunction of the tuning
circuit.

properly tightened into the
handpiece.
WARNING: Portable RF communications
Solution
Unscrew the insert tip and
screw it back correctly using
the torque wrench.
Replace the insert tip.
thoroughly dry the contacts
with compressed air.
connect the handpiece to
the cord.
Contact an Authorized
mectron Service center.
Contact an Authorized
mectron Service center.
Contact an Authorized
mectron Service center.
Unscrew and correctly screw
the insert tip back by using
the Mectron torque wrench
(see
chapter 4.4 on page
12
)
