After use
Clean the exterior of the machine and inspect for
any damage.
Clean the air filter. When working under extremely
dusty conditions, clean the filter several times a
day.
Check the cutting tool for any damage. Also be
sure that it is firmly mounted.
Check that there is sufficient difference between
idle and engagement speed. Be sure that the
cutting tool is at a standstill while the engine is in
idle.
Replacing the engine oil
CAUTION:
The engine main unit and engine
oil still remain hot after the engine is stopped.
When replacing the engine oil, make sure that the
engine main unit and engine oil are sufficiently
cooled down. Otherwise, there may is a risk of
scalding.
CAUTION:
If the oil filled above the limit,
it may become dirty or may catch fire with white
smoke. Allow sufficient time after stopping
engine for the engine oil to return to the oil tank to
ensure accurate reading of the oil amount.
NOTICE:
Never discard replaced engine oil in
garbage, on ground or in sewage. Disposal of oil is
regulated by law. Always follow the relevant laws and
regulations. If there is anything you are unclear about,
contact our authorized service center.
NOTICE:
Oil will deteriorate even when it is
kept unused. Perform an inspection and replace-
ment at regular intervals (replace with new oil every
6 months).
NOTICE:
Deteriorated engine oil will shorten
the life of the engine parts badly. Be sure to check
the period and quantity of replacement.
Interval of replacement: Initially, after 20 operating
hours, and subsequently every 50 operating hours
Recommended oil: SAE10W-30 oil of API
Classification SF Class or higher (4-stroke engine oil for
automobiles)
To replace the oil, perform the following procedures.
1.
Confirm that the fuel tank cap is tightened
securely.
2.
Place a large container, such as a pan, under the
drain hole.
3.
Remove the drain bolt and then remove the oil
cap.
Be careful not to lose the gasket on the drain bolt.
Do not get any of the removed components dirty.
Thoroughly wipe off any oil on the drain bolt and gasket
using a cloth.
4.
Drain the oil through from drain hole.

Alternative method: You can drain the oil without remov-
ing the drain bolt. Remove the oil cap and tilt the engine
to drain the oil out.
5.
Once all the oil is drained, combine the gasket and
the drain bolt and then tighten the drain bolt securely.
6.
Place the engine in a level position. Gradually fill
with new oil up to the upper limit mark.

7.
Tighten the oil cap securely.
CAUTION:
cap are securely tightened. A loose fit may cause
an oil leak.
