Note
Always use the reverse osmosis prod-
uct water for the solution make-up.
Check to be sure that the storage
reservoir has adequate water (8 to 10
gallons per cleaning procedure) before
starting the cleaning procedure.
Caution
Cleaning solutions for membrane Cat.
No. D68210 & D68211 must be mixed
with dechlorinated water. Failure to do
so will damage the membrane.
Warning
Avoid splashing disinfectant solution on
clothing or skin. Ensure all piping con-
nections are tight to avoid leakage of
chemicals. Always depressurize chemi-
cal lines before disassembly. Ensure
adequate ventilation. Follow carefully
the manufacturerʼs safety instructions
on labels of chemical containers and
material data sheets.
A.
Remove the ULTROpure top cover and cabinet.
B.
Disconnect the tubing from the membrane feed
fitting. This is the large connection on the mem-
brane housing top cap.
C.
Using the spare 1/2" OD TUBE X 3/8" NPTM
adapters, connect a sufficient length of tubing
from the membrane feed fitting to the discharge
port of the cleaning pump used for recirculating
the cleaning solution.
D.
Disconnect the tube fitting from the membrane
housing bottom cap and connect a sufficient
length of tubing to the membrane bottom cap fit-
ting. Secure the free end of the tubing inside the
cleaning tank.
E.
Disconnect the "Product" line at the ULTROpure.
Connect a sufficient length of tubing (see Tubing
Adapter Installation on page 12) to this connec-
tion and route the free end to the cleaning tank.
Also, reroute the free end of the reject line to the
cleaning tank.
F.
Refer to the Membrane Cleaning Compound
and Procedure Chart and make up the first
cleaning solution.
G.
Recirculate the cleaning solution for the time
specified on the Membrane Cleaning Compound
and Procedure Chart.
H.
Disconnect the tubing at the membrane housing
top cap and allow the solution to drain from the
membrane housing.
I.
Reconnect the tubing connections at the top and
bottom end caps.
J.
Route the "Reject" and "Product" lines to drain.
K.
Operate the ULTROpure to rinse the membrane
of cleaning solution as specified in the
Membrane Cleaning Compound and Procedure
Chart.
