Note
Reject and product flow rates can
vary with feedwater temperature
and pressure changes. Product
flow rate will vary approximately
3% for each °C above or below the
listed flow rate at 25°C (77°F).

Close valves or disconnect equip-
ment being serviced by the
ULTRpure to prevent cleaning
compounds from entering distribu-
tion lines and causing equipment
damage.

Prefilter Replacement
The prefilter requires replacement when there is a 10 psi dif-
ference between the prefilter inlet pressure and the prefilter
outlet pressure. Refer to "Prefilter Installation" in the
Installation section of this manual when replacing the prefilter.
Motor Bearing Lubrication
Lubricate the pump motor bearings once a year with 150
drops (about one teaspoon) of SAE 20 oil. Fill holes are
located at each end of the motor housing directly on top.
Membrane Cleaning
Frequency of cleaning is difficult to determine because of the
wide variety of feedwater supplies. We recommend that the
ULTROpure reverse osmosis membrane be cleaned on a
regular basis (every 3 months). More frequent cleaning is
required if the following conditions occur:
1.
A 5% decrease in % rejection (from initial values),
and/or
2.
A reject or product flow rate decline of more than
10% (from initial values).
The cleaning solution used will depend on both the type of
membrane and the type of material that caused the decrease
in productivity or performance of the membrane. Refer to the
Membrane Cleaning Compound and Procedure Chart on
page 30 to determine the cleaning compound needed.
Clean the membrane as follows:
The membrane cleaning procedure will require a suitable
tank for holding the cleaning solution and a pump capable of
recirculating 6 to 8 gallons per minute at a maximum dis-
charge pressure of 50 psig.
