This can be changed to fit the requirements of any design. Ensure that when cutting tubes, the distance from the last hole to the end of the tube is the same as the image below.
  • Page 8 GreyT Elevator V3 - User Guide (Rev 1) Hex Shaft Cut Guide “Pulley Shaft” “Ratcheting Shaft“ lengths are universal regardless of the size of the elevator made. “VersaPlanetary Connecting Shaft” should be measured and cut after the motors have be installed to ensure the shaft is not too long. This shaft can have up to a 1/4” gap between it and the VersaPlanetary output shaft.
  • Page 9 GreyT Elevator V3 - User Guide (Rev 1) Bearing Block Assembly Instructions Eight of the Clamping Bearing Blocks will be assembled without the 1/4” ID x 3/4” OD radial bearings. This is so the stages can be assembled seperately. Note: Blue Loctite (McMaster P/N 1004A12) is recommended on all bolts that thread into a tapped hole...
  • Page 10 GreyT Elevator V3 - User Guide (Rev 1) Step 1 Install all bearings as shown in the image below. The 6mm ID x 12mm OD radial bearing will sit on the 1/4” shoulder on the bearing block, and the #8-32 x 3/8”L bolt will be used to retain the bearing.
  • Page 11 GreyT Elevator V3 - User Guide (Rev 1) Elevator Assembly Instructions For the purpose of this manual, all tubes were cut to dimensions used in the CAD model. However, the tubes can be cut to any length desired. See the page labeled Tubing Cut Guide for more detailed instructions.
  • Page 12 GreyT Elevator V3 - User Guide (Rev 1) Step 1 Assemble the Elevator Mast Vertical Tube with an aluminum tube plug and appropriate plastic tube plug sleeve. The tube plug can be installed using #10-32 x 3/8”L bolts. Repeat this step for both Elevator Mast Vertical Tubes.
  • Page 13 GreyT Elevator V3 - User Guide (Rev 1) Step 2 Bolt the assembled vertical tubes for the mast to the Elevator Base Tube. The holes indicated in green should be drilled clearance for #10-32 bolts. The bottom face of the tube should be drilled to 3/8”...
  • Page 14 GreyT Elevator V3 - User Guide (Rev 1) Step 3 Attach the Elevator Mast Cross Tube to the Elevator Mast Vertical Tubes using four #10-32 bolts and 1” long spacers. The distance from the top of the main tube to the top of the cross tube is determined by the Sprocket Mounting Plate installed in step 5.
  • Page 15 GreyT Elevator V3 - User Guide (Rev 1) Step 4 Install the Bearing Blocks as shown in the image below. The holes indicated in green must be drilled clearance for #10-32. The Bearing Blocks use 1/2” hole spacing. Repeat this step for both sides of the Elevator Mast.
  • Page 16 GreyT Elevator V3 - User Guide (Rev 1) Step 5 Press the 1/2” ThunderHex bearing into the Sprocket Mounting Plate. Repeat this step for the other plate, and make sure that the bearings are on opposite sides of the plate.
  • Page 17 GreyT Elevator V3 - User Guide (Rev 1) Step 6 Assemble the 1st Stage Horizontal Tube with an aluminum tube plug and appropriate plastic tube plug sleeve. The tube plug can be installed using #10-32 x 3/8”L bolts. Repeat this step for both ends of the tube and for both 1st Stage Horizontal Tubes.
  • Page 18 GreyT Elevator V3 - User Guide (Rev 1) Step 7 Bolt the 1st Stage Vertical Tubes to the assembled 1st Stage Horizontal Tubes. The holes in the vertical tube must be drilled clearance for #10-32 bolts with the outside face drilled to 3/8”, similar to how the Elevator Base Tube is done.
  • Page 19 GreyT Elevator V3 - User Guide (Rev 1) Step 8 The bearings should be a slip or a light press fit into the Centered Bearing Plates. Install the bearings into the plates before installing the plates onto the 1st stage. Use two #10-32 x 2-1/2”L bolts to attach each pair of bearing plates to the 1st stage horizontal tubes.
  • Page 20 GreyT Elevator V3 - User Guide (Rev 1) Step 9 Bolt the chain spacer plate to the back of the 1st stage in the orientation shown in the image below. The spacer plate will be installed using #8-32 x 2-1/4”L bolts.
