Purpose of this Manual
This manual describes the functions, operation, installation, and commissioning of 7SC80 devices. In particu-
lar, one will find:

• Compilation of the Technical Data o Chapter 4;
• As well as a compilation of the most significant data for advanced users o Appendix A.
General information with regard to design, configuration, and operation of SIPROTEC 4 devices are set out in
the SIPROTEC 4 System Description /1/.
