Chapter 9
To use the digital pen to create graphics
When you enable Graphics Tablet Mode, use the digital pen on
the digital notepad to draw into graphics programs that you have
running. The program transmits your pen signals as real-time
graphics input, similar to those of a pressure-sensitive, graphics
pen and tablet.
Examples:
• Open Microsoft Paint (Start > Programs > Accessories >
Paint), enlarge the size of the white background, and select
the Pencil tool
sketches on the digital notepad, and see them transmitted
into the application window. It might take a few tries to find
the exact reference points on the paper. While the pen is in
Graphics Tablet Mode, your ink will not be uploaded to Ink
Manager Pro, nor will it be archived. Save the graphic the
way you normally do.
• Or, tap the pen tip on the digital notepad surface (lift the
paper pad to find the Graphics Tablet Mode tracking area,
which references the computer screen) to activate toolbar
icons or menus. Drag the pen tip to select text. Double-tap it
to double-click. Set the Pen Down setting to control whether
a tap acts as a right-click, center-click, or left -click.
• Then tap the OK button on the digital notepad to disable
Graphics Tablet Mode and resume writing notes.
The IBM Ink Viewer utility provides a literal view of your original
(archived) ink, exactly as it appears on the notepad. For example,
words you circled appear with circles, not with colors as they do in
Ink Manager Pro.
If you enable Ink Calendar Support (described earlier in this
chapter), the links in your calendar open the linked pages in the
Ink Viewer.
