    Electrical safety Observe the following rules when working on electrical equipment. Important Use only approved tools and test equipment. Some hand tools have handles covered with a soft material that does not insulate you when working with live electrical currents. Many customers have, near their equipment, rubber floor mats that contain small conductive fibers to decrease electrostatic discharges.

    This guide addresses only those items. You should use good judgment to identify potential safety hazards due to attachment of non-IBM features or options not covered by this inspection guide. If any unsafe conditions are present, you must determine how serious the apparent hazard could be and whether you can continue without first correcting the problem.

    v If the battery indicator blinks orange, indicating that the battery power is low. (Alternatively, if Hibernate when battery becomes low has been selected in the ″Power Management Properties″ window, the computer goes into hibernation mode.) Note: Even if you don’t set the low-battery alarm, the charge indicator lets you know that the battery is low, and then the computer enters the power-saving mode automatically.

    For some possible configurations of the computer, PC-Doctor might not run correctly. To avoid this problem, you need to initialize the computer setup by using the IBM BIOS Setup Utility before you run PC-Doctor. In the IBM BIOS Setup Utility screen, press F9, Enter, F10, then Enter.
