• Right-click a name in My Ink Files, and select Add to
ThinkScribe Menu. Select an ink file to rename.
Problem: The full-memory icons are flashing in the status display.
The full-memory icons alternate when the memory in the digital
notepad is full (the amber Error light turns on, also). To clear the
memory, turn on the computer and let your ink transfer to the
computer. The transfer starts automatically (the hourglass appears
in the status display).
After the transfer, you can turn off the computer and continue
writing on the digital notepad. See Chapter 1: Digital Notepad and
Pen Features for information about other icons that appear in the
status display.
Problem: The low-battery icons are flashing in the status display.
The low-battery icons alternate to indicate that the computer
battery is too low for the digital notepad to operate (the amber
Error light turns on, also). The digital notepad will shut down in
one minute unless you either use the AC adaptor or replace the
computer battery.
Tips for battery use:
• The digital notepad is designed to operate independently of
the computer, meaning you can turn on the digital notepad
and write notes for many hours with the computer turned
off. This method helps conserve the computer battery.
Periodically turn on the computer to let the ink transfer and
clear the memory on the digital notepad.
• Turn off the computer instead of putting it in standby mode
while you write notes on the digital notepad. (The digital
notepad must be turned on.)
• You can use the digital notepad for up to 10 hours even after
the computer battery is too low for computer use. In this
situation, the computer displays a low battery warning in its
display (if it is turned on), and then it shuts down
automatically after a while, but the digital notepad continues
to operate normally for up to 10 hours.
