paper and transfers your writing to the computer, where it is

Keyword—A type of action that you can assign to handwritten
words, typically topics or headings. Keywords appear in blue, by
default, on the computer. Create a list of your Keywords by
selecting Search > Keyword Index on the navigation panel, or by
selecting View > Keyword Index. Or use the Search Bar to
narrow your search by entering specific Keywords (if they are
transcribed to text), dates, or locations to include in the search.
Keyword list—A list you can create that contains Keywords you
marked in your pages. Use the list to locate and open pages
containing the Keywords.
Keyword transcription—A feature that automatically converts
handwritten Keywords to text. This feature saves you the time of
manually entering text for your Keywords. You can then sort your
Keywords into alphabetical order for easier searching or use the
Search Bar to narrow your search list to a certain Keyword. To
activate the transcription program, select File > Preferences >
Actions.
Location column—The column on an Action or Search list that
shows the ink file and page the action appears on. Select the
Location link to open the page containing the To Do, Message, or
Keyword.
Navigation panel—The list (menu) on the left side of the
viewing window in Ink Manager Pro. Select a menu item to open
pages or create lists.
Message—A type of action that you can assign to handwritten
words, typically messages that require return calls or reminders.
Messages appear in green, by default, on the computer. You can
view a list of your messages by selecting Messages on the
navigation panel.
Pen button—A recessed "button" on the digital notepad that
activates a command, such as OK, Cancel, Page Forward, or Page
Backward. Always tap the ink tip in a pen button because the ink
tip contains the transmitter that activates the command.
