Section 5: Wiring In the Updated Amplifier Modules

This section gives the steps needed to wire the new modules into your old amplifier.
You will build two wiring harnesses, a power wiring harness, and a ground wiring
harness. Once they are completed, you will bolt them to the existing star ground
connection.

Building and Installing the Power Wiring Harness

1. Construct two 12 inch long red-black twisted pairs from 18 AWG wire. Separate
the red and black wires for about 5" at one end, as shown in the drawing of the
wiring harness above. This should leave about 7" of twisted pair.
2. Strip ¼" of insulation from both black wires, and solder the black wires of both
twisted pairs through one of the supplied star-washer lugs. Reserve the second
star-washer lug for the ground harness, which is built next.
3. Strip ¼" of the 5" free end of both red wires. Twist them together, and solder
them to the positive (red) terminal of C12.
4. Connect the positive terminal of C11 to the positive terminal of C12.
5. Even up the other ends of both twisted pairs, form them along the chassis, routing
the first pair to the right channel PCB, and the second pair to the left channel
PCB.
6. Strip back ¼" of all four wires.
7. Insert the left channel red wire through the left channel VCC eyelet and solder it.
