Section 6: Wiring In the Updated Amplifier Modules

This section gives the steps needed to wire the new modules into your old amplifier.
Here's the plan:
1. Build and install the Power Wiring Harness
2. Build and install the ground wiring harness.
3. Replace the left-channel input wiring.
4. Connect all the wires to the amplifier modules.
5. Fasten the amplifier modules in place.

Building and Installing the Power Wiring Harness

1. See Figure 20. Cut the supplied black-red (18 AWG) pairs into two 12 inch
lengths. Strip ½" of insulation off of the ends of all the wires (8 places). Separate
the red and black wires for about 5" at one end, as shown in the drawing of the
wiring harness above. This should leave about 7" of joined pair.
2. Solder the black wires of both black-red pairs through one of the supplied star-
washer lugs. Reserve the second star-washer lug for the ground harness, which is
built next.
3. Twist and tin the ends of the red wires as shown Figure 20, then form then into
hooks.
4. Refer back to Figure 3, to the wire that used to go to the left channel module that
still hangs off the positive terminal of C12. Cut that wire to about a 1" length and
remove all the insulation. Crimp the hooks in the red wires of the harness to the
super heat sinks)
