In relation with characteristics of typical heat pump cycle temperatures, the cool-
ing fluid and the free source, an aluminium pipe heat exchanger is placed outside the
HPT200(C) heat pump water heater, which enables to heat sanitary water up to a tem-
perature of max. 60 °C in normal usage conditions. As the HPT200(C) heat pump wa-
ter heater has been equipped with a supplementary pipe radiator providing further
options: quicker achievement of full capacity operation by combining the heat pump
mode and pipe radiator mode up to a temperature of max. 60 °C. This may be utilised
in the course of antibacterial protection cycles even. In order to ensure sensible energy
use during the operation of the hot water tank, visual signals warn the user, if the ap-
pliance is not operating in the most efficient way, e.g. when the pipe radiator is active.
The appliance operates using two types of power source. As a standalone heat pump
and/or using the electrical pipe radiator. Models HPT200 C and C1 incorporate a heat
exchanger pipe coil (for model HPT200C). Hot water tank of type HPT200C can be
used with multiple energy sources: indirectly from solar energy, or gas-based, coal-
based or other energy carriers; furthermore, the auxiliary electric heating provided by
appliances of type HPT200(C) is controlled by the heat pump unit. All of the three heat-
ing functions can be used simultaneously.
This appliance has two temperature sensors that are placed in the upper flare locat-
ed on the closing cover and in the lower flare. The sensor placed in the upper pock-
et tube measures the upper temperature, and this number is displayed by the Water
temp indicator, while the sensor placed in the lower pocket tube monitors the lower
temperature, which serves as input data for switch on/ off, but is not displayed.
1.) Economy mode (ECO):
In this mode, only the heat pump operates, as a result of pre-set water tempera-
ture, and the electric heater is not enabled. (The water temperature is 38 to 60 °C at
the outlet, while the temperature of the operating environment is -4 to 43 °C)
2.) Hybrid Mode:
In this mode, the equipment splits its operation capabilities to electric heating and
heat pumping, based on the temperature of the water tank. (The water temperature
is 38 to 60 °C at the outlet, while the temperature of the operating environment is -20
to 43 °C)
3.) E-heater Mode:
In this mode, the motors of the compressor and the fan do not work, only the
electric heater operates. In this case, only water located in the upper part of the
tank is heated, which means approximately 100 l. (The water temperature is 38 to
60 °C at the outlet, while the temperature of the operating environment is -20 to 43 °C)
4.) Defreezing through water heating:
In case of Economy Mode and Hybrid Mode, if the evaporating steam freezes in
cold environments, the appliance defreezes it automatically to ensure efficient
performance (3 to 10 min).
