b) are free from defects in material and workmanship that could result in non-compli-
ance with the regulations in force of the United States Environmental Protection
Agency or the California Air Resources Board for a period of use, based on the engine
displacement, of 3.728 mi (6.000 km), if the engine displacement is less than 3.05 cu
in (50 cc); 7.457 mi (12.000 km), if the engine displacement is less than 10.37 cu in
(170 cc); 11.185 mi (18.000 km), if the engine displacement is equal to or greater than
10.37 cu in (170 cc), but in any case less than 17.09 cu in (280 cc); or 18.641 mi
(30.000 km), if the engine displacement is equal to or greater than 17.09 cu in (280
cc); or 5 (five) years from the date of the initial public sale, whichever is sooner.

Owner's Warranty Responsibilities

As the owner, you are responsible for carrying out the scheduled mainte-
nance indicated in your use and maintenance manual. Moto Guzzi recom-
mends that you keep all receipts relating to the maintenance of your
motorcycle even if Moto Guzzi cannot deny the warranty solely for lack of
receipts or proof that the entire scheduled maintenance has been carried out.
It is your responsibility to have your motorcycle checked by a Moto Guzzi
dealer as soon as a problem occurs. Warranty repairs should be completed
within a reasonable period of time, not exceeding 30 days.
As owner of the motorcycle, you should be aware that Moto Guzzi may deny
the warranty if your motorcycle or component is found to be defective as a
result of violations, negligence, improper maintenance or unauthorised mod-
ifications.
