CARBONS.

Tampering

It is forbidden to tamper the noise control system. The following actions are prohibited
by federal law:
a) The removal and any action, by anyone, aimed at rendering inoperative, except for
maintenance, repair or replacement, any device or design element incorporated in all
new vehicles, in order to control the noise emission before sale or delivery of the
vehicle to the final purchaser or while it is being used,
or
b) the use of the vehicle after this device or design element has been removed or
rendered inoperative by any person.
These tampering actions also include the actions listed below:
a) Removal or perforation of the silencer, deflectors, manifold pipes or any other com-
ponent for conveying the exhaust gases.
b) Disassembly or perforation of any component of the intake system.
c) Insufficient proper maintenance.
d) Replacement of any moving part of the vehicle or parts of the intake or exhaust
system with parts other than those specified by the manufacturer.
e) Removal of decals or warning labels regarding emissions or safe vehicle operation.
ANY DAMAGE RESULTING FROM THE REMOVAL OF THE DECALS AND/OR
THE WARNING LABELS WILL NOT BE COVERED BY THE TERMS OF THE MOTO
GUZZI LIMITED WARRANTY FOR NEW VEHICLES. Besides, many countries may
refuse to grant registration of a vehicle that does not have the necessary emission
and/or safety warning labels if these are not regularly attached to the vehicle. The
vehicle owner must consider that Piaggio Group Americas, Inc. / Moto Guzzi USA will
not recognise any warranty if the vehicle or any of its components is damaged or
