Replacing the Floppy Drive

Replacing the Floppy Drive
Desktop Model
1 Disconnect the computer's power supply cord and any connection to
a telecommunications network.
2 Remove the computer's cover (page 3).
3 Disconnect the power and data cables from the rear of the floppy
disk drive and the hard disk drive(s).
4 Remove the two retaining screws from the floppy disk/hard disk
drive tray, and then carefully lift the tray from the PC. Place the tray
on a table/desk top.
5 Remove the four screws on the side of the drive tray and remove the
old floppy disk drive.
6 Slide the new floppy drive into the drive tray (with the correct
orientation) and tighten the screws.
7 Carefully put the drive tray back into the PC, and secure it in position
using the two retaining screws that you removed earlier.
8 Attach the connectors to the new floppy drive and the hard disk
drive.
9 Ensure that the data and power cables are neatly routed so that they
do not interfere with any other device nor hinder the PC's cover.
10 Install any other accessories before replacing the cover. Reconnect
all cables and power cords.
11 Check the new configuration by viewing the summary screen (press
while the Vectra logo is displayed during system startup).
