STARTING/STOPPING

BEFORE STARTING

1. Before initial start-up, prepare battery for operation if
not already done See Battery Care.
2.
With the compressor standing level, check the level
of the engine oil. Add oil, if necessary, to the upper
mark on dipstick. Consult the Engine Operation
Manual for the type of coolant and type and viscosity
grade of the engine oil.
3.
Remove the air receiver drain plug (1), see figure,
drain possible condensate. Reinstall the drain plug
when oil comes out. The interval between draining
operations may be determined by experience, as the
amount of condensate depends on the operating con-
dition.
4.
Check the level of the compressor oil. The pointer of
oil level gauge should register in the green range.
Add oil if necessary. See Lubrication oils for the oil
to be used.
5.
Check that the fuel tank contains sufficient fuel. Top
up, if necessary. Consult the Engine Operation Man-
ual for the type of fuel.
6.
Drain any water and sediment from the fuel filter
until clean fuel flows from the drain cock.
7.
Press vaccuator valve of the air filter to remove dust.
8.
Check the air filter service indicator. If the red part
shows completely, service or replace the filter ele-
ment. Reset the indicator.
9.
Check coolant level in overflow bottle. Top up cool-
ant if necessary. Consult engine's operation manual
for water/coolant specifications.
10. Attach the air line(s) to the closed air outlet valve(s).
11. Use hoses with suitable pressure rating and fit for the
environmental conditions. Inspect hoses and connec-
tions daily.
No external force may be applied to the air
outlet valves(2). e.g. by pulling hoses or by
connecting equipment directly to the valves.
If the compressor is to be connected to a
common compressed air system, fit an
appropriate
check
compressor outlet and air system.
Observe the right mounting position/
direction!
Before removing oil filler plug, ensure that
the pressure is released by opening an air
outlet valves(2).
Before draining, ensure that the pressure is
released.
