DVS Fast Charging System

5.1 System Start Up

Once the system has been properly installed (mechanically and electrically) it is ready to be
powered. When you first power up your DVS Fast Charging System, it will perform a lamp test.
The display will then show the initial status screen containing the model number and the
software version. The DVS will then sequence through the two more status screens before
reaching "Charger Ready Connect Vehicle," See Figure 5.1. When initialization is complete,
the screens for each charge port will alternate. Note that there is an arrow in the upper left or
right corner of the screen indicating which channel's data is currently being displayed.

5.2 Energy Saving Idle Shutdown

The power server will turn off to conserve energy when no vehicles are connected to the
charging ports. During idle shutdown the displays on the power stations will be dark. When a
vehicle is connected to any charging port, the system will restart and charging will begin. The
system will remain powered until all vehicles have disconnected in order to allow EQ charging
to occur according to the BMID programmed schedule. It may take up to an hour for the
system to shut down after the last vehicle disconnects.
The system will power up for 10 minutes after the system three-phase AC power is first turned
on even without a vehicle connected. A menu item in the master power station can activate a
temporary override of the energy saving mode shut down (see section 5.8).
