Guarantee of operation
If the following actions are taken, Olympus does not guarantee the operation of this product.
° Write data into or edit data in the system disk (Windows
° Install software that is not pre-installed on this product such as antivirus software, etc.
OS setting
The factory default OS user is set as follows:
° Authority : Administrator
° Username: DP2-AOU
° Password: OlyDP123
Computer virus
To prevent computer viruses, DP23-AOU or DP28-AOU does not allow the unauthorized writing in the system area of
DP2-AOU.
However, it cannot completely prevent the infection of computer viruses that evolve on a daily basis. Take the following
actions to prevent the contamination of computer viruses to DP2-AOU.
° For the recording media connected to DP23-AOU or DP28-AOU such as USB flash drive, etc., check viruses in
advance. (DP23-AOU or DP28-AOU does not have a function to check viruses. Use your PC to check viruses.)
° Make sure that there is no computer virus in the network or PC where DP23-AOU or DP28-AOU is connected.
° If, by any chance, they are infected by computer viruses or there is a suspicion of virus infection, set the main
switch of DP2-AOU to OFF and unplug the power cord from the outlet. By doing this, the RAM memory is
cleared and the foreign files are deleted.
° If malfunctions or infectious symptoms are still noticed even though the above actions were taken, contact Olympus.
Olympus is not liable for malfunctions of DP23-CU or DP28-CU or defects and damages occurred on your PC or
network environments caused by the computer virus.
Connection to internet
It is not recommended to connect DP2-AOU to the internet except in the following cases.
° When unlocking (activating) the license of software (optional)
When connecting to the internet or handling the confidential information, it is strongly recommended to enable DP2-AVS
(Antivirus Software License) (optional).
Battery lifetime
The lithium ion coin battery (CR2032) to maintain the calendar function is built in DP2-AOU. The battery lifetime is 1 to
6 years. (If the AC adapter is connected to DP2-AOU, the battery consumption is reduced. Therefore, the lifetime differs
depending on whether the AC adapter is connected or not.)
The camera can be used even though the battery runs out, but the calendar is reset each time when the AC adapter is
unplugged. If you need to replace the battery, contact Olympus.
Fan of DP2-AOU
The number of rotations of the fan varies depending on the internal temperature of the device.
Therefore, the fan may make larger sound in the following cases, but they are not failures.
° When the temperature of the ambient environment is high, such as in summer time, etc.
° When the temperature of the system is high such as after long hours of use, etc.
° Approximately 10 seconds in the beginning of startup
